Grass Fire in Tarzana Threatens a Structure

Some power lines were down, possibly the result of falling branches.

A small brush fire threatened nearby homes in Tarzana today, but was put out in about half an hour, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The fire, which was less than an acre, was reported at 4619 Conchita Way at 4:22 p.m., spokesman Brian Humphrey said.

Sixty-four firefighters and a helicopter had the flames out within 30 minutes, he said.

The fire didn’t impact any nearby structures, but some power lines were downed, possibly due to a falling branch, Humphrey said.

No injuries were reported.
