Gunman Kills 1, Wounds Another In Encino

Police are asking for information that could help lead to a killer, who took the life of a 28-year-old man at an Encino house party.

ENCINO, CA — Police are asking for help fining a gunman who killed a man in Encino Sunday. Two people were shot Sunday morning, and a 28-year-old man died at the scene.

The shooting happened in the 17800 block of Miranda Street at 4:20 a.m. Sunday, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Guillermo Hernandez, of Sylmar, died instantly. A man in his late 50s remains hospitalized in critical condition. Police have not publicly identified the second shooting victim.

The victims had been arguing with the gunman, who fired several shots, LAPD Officer Mike Lopez said. The victims and the assailant may have been attending a house party, according to reports from the scene.

No suspect information was released, but anyone with information about the shooting was urged to call (818) 374-1934 to speak with LAPD Detective Dave Peteque. .
