How Much Do Movie Tickets Cost in Our Area?

We've compiled a list of five local movie theaters and their pricing information.

Steven Spielberg once said, “Every time I go to a movie, it's magic, no matter what the movie’s about.” Millions of Americans seem to agree with this notion, as movies are a multibillion-dollar industry.

To help you pick the right theater, Encino Patch looked at local theaters in the area and their ticket prices. So whether you’re on a budget, prefer foreign films or like a retro-style movie house, we found something for you.

Arclight Sherman Oaks is a beautiful, upscale movie theater located on Ventura Boulevard. This large megaplex has 15 theaters, which feature the best in sight and sound technology. The seats are also a more comfortable three inches wider than regular theater seats. There’s also a gift shop, café and full bar on site in case you want to stay and relax for a while. Pacific’s Sherman Oaks 5 feels and looks like a movie theater from the past, with its retro styling and quaint rooms. It has just six screens, which feature old-fashioned balcony seating. The theater is never too busy, which means even if you’re running a little late, you’ll still have a good seat. Tickets are $10.75 for adults and $8.75 for children and seniors. 14424 Milbank St. (at Van Nuys Boulevard), Sherman Oaks; 818-501-5121.

is an excellent place to see independent, foreign or indie art films. The concession stand offers an array of snacks at lower prices than neighboring theaters. Century Cinedome 8 is smaller than some of its counterparts, but they make up for it in great prices. The theater normally doesn’t get too crowded, and has a wide selection of new releases to pick from. However, the best part about this place is its cheap ticket prices. Tickets are just $7 and if you get there before 6 p.m. they’re only $5.50. 12827 Victory Blvd., North Hollywood.

Mann Plant 16  features many of the latest film releases. The theater has THX certifications for some screenings, to ensure high quality. There's a large concession bar with popcorn and snacks. In addition, it’s located by a police station, which is a nice reassurance of safety.
