How Should the City Spend Your Tax Dollars?

A series of community meetings Saturday will give Angelenos a chance to offer their own two cents on how city tax dollars are spent.

The meetings -- part of Regional Budget Day -- will run from 9 a.m. to noon. The gatherings will also include discussions on “community needs and issues,” according to members of the Neighborhood Council Budget Advocates committee, which organized the event.

The committee represents the city’s 95 neighborhood councils, which are tasked with bringing local issues and needs to the attention of Los Angeles City Council and other city officials.

The meetings will be held at:

-- Braude Constituent Services Center, 6262 Van Nuys Blvd., in Van Nuys;

-- the Legal Aid Foundation West Office/Law Library, 1102 Crenshaw Blvd.;

-- Boyle Heights City Hall, 2130 E. First St.;

-- Ninth Council District Constituent Services Center, 4301 S. Central Ave., in South Los Angeles;

-- West Los Angeles Municipal Building, 1645 Corinth Ave.; and

-- Port of Los Angeles High School, 250 W. Fifth St., San Pedro

The budget advocates are also circulating a survey on the quality of city services at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/servicereportcard2015
