Man Rescued from Surging Los Angeles River in Encino

Los Angeles firefighters rescued a man from the Los Angeles River swollen from the recent storm.

ENCINO, CA - A man in his 20s was located on a tree in the wash of the Los Angeles River in Encino today and helped out by firefighters using a rope system.

Rescuing the man proved to be a challenge because the wash had gained a lot of water because of rain, according to Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
