MVP PEDIATRIC URGENT CARE OPENS ITS DOORS TO THE SAN FERNANDO VALLEY COMMUNITY

New pediatric urgent care center in Tarzana truly sets the standard for pediatric urgent care in the San Fernando Valley.

There are plenty of urgent cares in the San Fernando Valley and in Los Angeles, but hardly any availability for the pediatric population....Up until now. MVP Pediatric Urgent Care is setting a new standard for pediatric urgent care in the San Fernando Valley. This Pediatric Urgent Care, a state-of-the-art clinic that offers pediatric urgent care medical services to the San Fernando Valley pediatric patient population, opened to the public in May this past year. Located in a beautiful facility on Ventura Blvd in Tarzana, the clinic is equipped with highly trained board certified pediatricians, pediatric nurses, mental health professionals, and other ancillary support services to evaluate and treat non-life threatening emergencies.

MVP Pediatric Urgent Care is about providing access to children when things are urgent. Open 7 days a week, including all major holidays, MVP is conveniently located on Ventura Blvd. Patients are welcome for walk-ins and appointments Monday-Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. To ensure your child is always cared for when in need, they are also open on Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

As you walk into the building, the musical sounds of artists like Bob Marley and the Beatles float through the air, and the Lifeguard Bear logo invites children and their families into the Southern California Beach-themed center. A “boardwalk” runs from one end of the facility to the other, with authentic surf-boards once used by SoCal surfers, and a life-guard tower with a perched seagull that rests against one wall of the waiting room. Kids can wait comfortably with their parents or guardians on the couches in the waiting area and play with the handful of beachballs found there. Netflix streams children’s movies, and you won’t find any white lab coats here - in fact, the doctors, nurses and office staff all wear the same Lifeguard T-shirts with the company logo on it; this is a deliberate move on the owner’s part in keeping with the unique and child-friendly environment. While some might find this unconventional for a medical center, MVP is about breaking down boundaries and seeking to meet the community’s needs where they begin.

The Co-Founders are a Pediatric Critical-Care Intensivist and Licensed Clinical Social Worker who saw the importance of having a locally available pediatric urgent care facility to meet the needs of the children and families in their own community. One of their own three children needed emergent services, and upon discovering there was no local center in the daytime to treat their child with the best possible pediatric care, they drove over the hill to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Out of this stressful and unnecessary experience, the idea for MVP Pediatric & Urgent Care was born.

The pediatrician-run facility boasts nurses and doctors who are CHLA trained, and at MVP, your child is their Most Valuable Patient! Some of the treatments provided include procedural sedation for painful or stressful procedures, IV hydration therapy and much more. MVP is also complete with lab testing and state-of-the-art Radiology technology on premises.

As a facility solely dedicated to caring for the particular medical and emotional needs of children, the doctors and nurses at MVP are dedicated to being the leaders in Pediatric Urgent Care medicine for their community. You can be confident that your children- newborns, toddlers, pre-schoolers, grade-schoolers, your adolescents and young adults - are receiving the highest standard of quality medical care available to them in urgent or stressful situations. They are credentialed with most insurance companies, and unlike an emergency room you will find no hidden facility fees.

MVP ’s goal is to meet the healthcare needs of the children in their community, working alongside and supplementing the primary care services of the Pediatrician’s office; they relay the pertinent information over to their patient’s pediatrician’s office in a timely manner as a part of enhancing continuity of care. In the event of no current pediatrician, MVP is dedicated to finding you the right doctor for your child. They also refer patients they see who need additional care to the appropriate specialists found in medical facilities nearby.

“Children are not small adults and thereby, their health issues are best understood by pediatricians.”
 -MVP Pediatric Team
