Newborn Boy Surrendered To Tarzana Hospital
A baby boy surrendered to a hospital in Tarzana was one of two newborns surrendered to San Fernando Valley Hospitals on Tuesday.
NORTHRIDGE, CA — Two newborn infants have been surrendered at hospitals in the San Fernando Valley as part of Los Angeles County's Safe Surrender program.
The babies were surrendered Tuesday, according to the office of county Supervisor Janice Hahn.
A boy was surrendered in Tarzana and a girl in Northridge, Hahn's office announced.

"Every baby safely surrendered is a life saved," Hahn said. "Thanks to these two courageous mothers, a baby boy and a baby girl will grow up in safe and loving homes."
Since the county's Safe Surrender program began in 2001, 153 babies have been safely surrendered.

The program allows parents or guardians to leave babies that are three days old or younger with employees of any hospital or fire station with no questions asked as long as the infants show no signs of abuse.
