Paul Mitchel School and Makeovers that Matter Honor Veterans

Paul Mitchell School of Sherman Oaks will work with Makeovers That Matter to celebrate and pamper female veterans on November 14.

Paul Mitchell School and a nonprofit organization, Makeovers That Matter (MTM), will host the 3rd Annual Military Makeover Event, completely pampering female veterans.

The Paul Mitchell School of Sherman Oaks will be collaborating with MTM to celebrate the mind, body, and spirit of these women who served our nation. The Paul Mitchell School will be providing hair color and hair styling, The EI Makeup School of Hollywood will be proving makeup, and Orly LA will be providing manicures. There will also be lunch and the traditional goodie bag full of hair products, tools and surprises provided for these amazing women.

The women that will be pampered all day long, are graduates from MTM’s Mindset Program. This program supports economically disadvantaged female veterans, and military caregivers, with preparation they need to step back into the community through a makeover from the inside out.

It is a 12 session course to not find a job, but an actual career. Courses include: mental health, diet/nutrition and exercise, yoga/mindfulness, hair and makeup tutorial, wardrobe styling, financial literacy, women’s health, organizing your home and mock interviews.

The 3rd Annual Military Makeover Event will take place at the Paul Mitchell School, 15301 Ventura Blvd. Sherman Oaks, CA. 91403 on Nov. 14, 2016 from 10 am to 3 pm.

The nonprofit was founded by Michael John, in 2012, while giving back to the community through styling hair for the homeless in Hollywood.

“Helping these women feel better about themselves was such an amazing and fulfilling experience,” Michael John said, “it really inspired me to try and take it just a little bit further.”
