Plucked from the LA River, Lucky the Dog Is Looking For New Home
No one has yet claimed or adopted the little mutt rescued from the rain-swollen LA River Friday.
A dog rescued from the Los Angeles River during an unexpected, quick moving storm was still without an owner today.
“The animal is resting carefully and usually with a high profile animal they are diligent in finding it a home,” said Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department, citing information from the Department of Animal Services.
“I’m sure many firefighters are among those who would stand in line to adopt him.”

Humphrey said he was not sure what kind of dog it was, but noted it was a small dog, possibly a mixed breed.
The animal was rescued by a paramedic/firefighter who was lowered into rain-swollen river near the Cahuenga Pass by a fire department helicopter at 3:45 p.m. Friday. It was dubbed Lucky.
