Police Arrest Suspect in Deadly Tarzana Shooting

Detectives arrested a 20-year-old Reseda man for allegedly shooting to death a 24-year-old woman in Tarzana.

TARZANA, CA -- Police arrested a 20-year-old Reseda man Monday in the fatal shooting a woman in Tarzana.

Police arrested Heriberto Gonzalez on suspicion of murder in the death of Angela Hernandez, 24, according to the Los Angeles Police Department reported.

Police allege Gonzalez drove Hernandez to a dirt trail to test-fire his handgun, police said. According to police, Gonzalez drove Hernandez and witnesses to the south end of Vanalden Avenue in Tarzana. They left the car and hiked up a dirt trail to test fire the handgun. When they returned to the car, Gonzalez allegedly shot Ms. Hernandez.

“Witnesses transported Ms. Hernandez to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injury,” according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
