Step back in time... Victorian Day in the Park - Saturday, April 23 - Los Encinos State Historic Park

Victorian Day in the Park - with sheep herding dog demonstration. Free living history event at Los Encinos State Historic Park in Encino.

Step back in time, right in your neighborhood. Come on over to Los Encinos State Historic park for the annual Victorian Day in the Park. Put on your Victorian finery, pack your picnic and join in the civilized fun.

Participants are encouraged (but not required) to wear 1870s-80s costume and bring Victorian style picnic food and equipment.

This living history event will feature live music, a visit from the Kickapoo Indian Sagawa medicine show, blacksmith demonstration, and a sheep herding dog demonstration. Also enjoy self-guided tours of the Adobe museum.

Those with historically correct living history set ups, acts, presentations, characters, entertainments or activities are invited to join in. Please check with the Los Encinos Docent Association first. Please note there is no staking in the ground.

Period lawn games are encouraged as long as they don't involve projectiles that might break a window (no baseball, sorry).

Whether you are a serious Victorian era re-enactor, a history buff, an area resident interested in learning more about Encino history, or just someone looking for a relaxing picnic in the park, Victorian Day in the Park is the perfect way to spend a spring afternoon.

Dogs on leashes are allowed. Beer and wine are permitted. NO firearms (real or replica) please.

Victorian Day in the Park is hosted by the Los Encinos Docent Association.

WHERE: Los Encinos State Historic Park is located just North / East of the Balboa Boulevard and Ventura Boulevard intersection at 16756 Moorpark Street, Encino, California 91436. Street parking is available in the neighborhood.

WHEN: The event is Saturday, April 23rd from 12:00PM to 4:00PM.

Los Encinos State Historic Park is open Wednesday - Sunday 10:00AM to 5:00PM. It is closed on major holidays.
