Suspected Shooter Arrested in Encino Homicide

Police arrested a 23-year-old man Tuesday on suspicion of murdering one man and shooting another at an Encino gathering.

ENCINO, CA — A man suspected of shooting two men at a house party in Encino over the weekend, killing one, is behind bars Wednesday.

Police on Tuesday arrested 23-year-old Cesar Lozano on suspicion of murder, said Officer Rosario Herrera of the Los Angeles Police Department. Lozano is being held on $4 million bail.

The shooting took the life ofGuillermo Hernandez, 28, of Sylmar. Hernandez died at the scene of the shooting that occurred about 4:20 a.m. Sunday in the 17800 block of Miranda Street. Another man in his 50s was shot and hospitalized in critical condition.

Three men had been arguing when the shooting broke out, according to police and witnesses.
