Valley youth track team needs new home

I am a volunteer coach for the VALLEY RAIDERS, a youth track team here in the San Fernando Valley that has been around since 1978 (www.valleyraiders.com). We practice at Birmingham High in Van Nuys but the school now has an infraction against it - apparently for bad bleachers and a bathroom without handicap access. Anyway, that is why practice was cancelled this week and indefinitely there since they had to let all teams that practice there and have meets like us go.

The goal to get a new practice facility has begun and contacts are being made, but as of yet - it hasn't happened and we need help. Our thought is that if an Athletic Director or Principal sees the story and our young athletes being interviewed - they might step up and help.

Such a shame for the kids who are probably wondering why their season came to a quick halt (facility wise) after just 2 weeks. We were supposed to host a big "Invitational" track and field meet this Saturday but cannot. Fortunately, at least for this week, another track club we know in Granada Hills will host this on e week.

It would be great if a principal or athletic director would step up in their community andet the Valley Raiders practice at their facility.
