Vanowen Street Bridge is a local embarrassment and an eyesore.

What needs to be done to get the Vanowen Street Bridge finished? It is an eyesore and L.A. Public Works blight on the surrounding community. This bridge has been in a condition of disrepair for more than two years and it seems no closer to opening now than it was 3 months ago. Graffiti covers the K-rails that block the south side of the bridge and construction materials are piled in the street as well as along the north side of the L.A. River bank just behind a modest apartment building at the intersection of Mason and Vanowen. It appears as if the work could be completed relatively quickly. When will the work be completed? Who needs to act?
