Victim in Tarzana Drug Deal Shooting Identified
Authorities identified one of two men killed in a drug deal gone bad Thursday in Tarzana.

TARZANA, CA - The Los Angeles Coroner's Office today identified one of two men who were fatally shot in Tarzana after a drug deal went bad in Woodland Hills.
The victim was identified as Los Angeles resident Sonny Pena, 28, according to Lt. Dave Smith of the coroner's office. The name of the second shooting victim, a 23-year-old man, will be released pending notification of next of kin, Smith said.
The victims were found just before 4 p.m. Thursday in the 6100 block of Corbin Avenue, about three blocks south of Victory Boulevard, said Los Angeles police Officer Tony Im.

One victim was pronounced dead at the scene and the other was taken to a hospital, later dying there, police said.
"Something happened at that transaction; an altercation and shooting occurred. The suspects began chasing the victims," LAPD Detective Richard Wheeler told reporters at the scene.

"The suspects fired additional shots into that car and then reached it, and removed money, got back in his vehicle and fled the location."
A report from the scene showed a crashed dark sedan between two parked cars.
