VIDEO: Burglar Breaks into Tarzana Apartment

Do you recognize him? Detectives believe he committed another burglary immediately after this one and is likely responsible for several other burglaries in the area over the past year.

Detectives have released surveillance video they hope will lead to an arrest in at least one Tarzana burglary, police officials said today.

The video showed a suspect climbing onto utility meters outside an apartment in the 6300 block of Reseda Boulevard on Saturday, June 7, at about 1 p.m., then cutting the window screen, opening an unlocked window and entering.

The man removed cash and jewelry, officials said. Detectives were also investigating whether the suspect assaulted a child who was sleeping inside the apartment.

The suspect returned to the residence 45 minutes later but could not re-enter the residence, officials said. Detectives believe he committed another burglary immediately after this crime and is likely responsible for several other burglaries in the area over the past year, officials said.

He was described as Latino, between 17 and 22 years old, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a medium build, a short, neat haircut and a cigarette behind his left ear.
