Woman Killed in Van Nuys Crash
The crash happened Tuesday afternoon near Sherman Avenue. A small child was hospitalized with injuries.

A 51-year-old woman was fatally injured this afternoon in a two-car collision at Sherman Way and Gloria Avenue in the Van Nuys area, authorities said.
Firefighters were called to the 7200 block of N. Gloria Avenue just before 3 p.m., said Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The woman, who was not immediately identified, had to be extricated from her vehicle, Stewart said. LAPD Officer Mike Lopez said she died at a hospital.

A 4-year-old child was also taken to a hospital, but the youngster’s injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, Lopez said.
