8 Injured In Head-On Crash On Highway 76 In North County

PAUMA VALLEY, CA – A two-vehicle head-on collision left eight people injured and State Route 76 closed Monday morning in the Pauma Valley area of San Diego's North County.
The crash was reported around 8 a.m. on SR-76 at Cole Grade Road, east of Casino Pauma in Pauma Valley, an unincorporated community in North County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Five adults and three children were transported to Palomar Medical Center Escondido, four with major injuries and four with minor injuries, Cal Fire Capt. Kendal Bortisser said.

No details about the victims were immediately available.
A Sig-alert was issued for the area. The CHP closed both the eastbound and westbound lanes of SR-76 between Pauma Reservation Road and Cole Grade Road. The roadway was expected to the closed for several hours, according to the CHP.
