• Escondido City Council to vote on data center moratorium (10news.com) — Escondido's City Council is preparing to vote on a temporary moratorium for new data centers, aiming to set rules before any projects are proposed near neighborhoods. City leaders and nearby residents worry about massive warehouse-style facilities bringing heavy power and water use close to homes, schools, and hospitals, and want to decide where, or if, such centers should be allowed.
   

• Ethel Nave (1930–2026) of Belleville, IL (riverbender.com) — Escondido readers may note that 95-year-old Ethel Mae "Jane" Nave passed away at Palomar Hospital in Escondido while visiting family, including a daughter who lives here. Services and burial will be held Wednesday in Belleville, Illinois, with memorials suggested to St. Matthew Church.
