ESCONDIDO, CA — Escondido residents planning to visit government offices next week should prepare for closures Wednesday, Nov. 11, in observance of Veterans Day.
The city of Escondido recognizes Veterans Day as an official holiday under its 2026 municipal holiday schedule.
San Diego County has also announced that county government offices, family resource centers, county-operated libraries, public health centers and animal shelters will close for the holiday.
Residents who need assistance with county-administered programs, public health services or other government business are encouraged to complete their visits before Wednesday.
The county said its parks and campgrounds will remain open during regular operating hours, although some recreation and community center offices will be closed.
Essential services, including law enforcement and emergency animal control response, will continue throughout the holiday.
