Armed Man Robs Escondido Gas Station With Bag Over His Head
A man wearing a bag over his head robbed an Escondido gas station at gunpoint Tuesday morning, police said.
ESCONDIDO, CA — A man wearing a bag over his head robbed an Escondido gas station at gunpoint Tuesday morning, police said.
The heist occurred around 3:45 a.m. at a Chevron gas station at 215 E. Via Rancho Parkway, just east of Interstate 15, Escondido police Lt. Ed Bennett said.
The thief walked into the convenience store with a cloth bag over his head, pulled out a handgun and demanded cash from the clerk, Bennett said.

After the clerk complied, the robber took off on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, the lieutenant said.
The suspect was described as a white man with a heavy build, wearing a red sweatshirt and yellow shorts.
