ESCONDIDO, CA – On a weekend visit to the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, Patch reader Jane Young got a peek -- and an adorable photo -- of three-week-old Umzula-zuli, also known as "Zuli," the baby elephant born Aug. 12.
Arriving on World Elephant Day 2018, to be exact, Zuli is the largest elephant to be born at the Escondido park, weighing in at more than 270 pounds, according to officials. A newborn calf generally weighs 200 to 268 pounds at birth.
Sweet photo, and thanks for sharing, Jane!
