Brush Fire Halted Near I-15 In Escondido
BREAKING: Officials say Interstate 15 remains open, but nearby Champagne Boulevard is expected to be closed for several hours.

ESCONDIDO, CA – Firefighters battled a brush fire Thursday near Interstate 15 in unincorporated Escondido.
The blaze, dubbed the Gopher Fire, broke out near the Deer Springs Road exit, according to Cal Fire. As of 3:45 p.m., firefighters have stopped forward progress of the three-acre fire.
Officials said I-15 remains open, but nearby Champagne Boulevard is expected to be closed for several hours.

There were no reports of structural threats.
