Brush Fire Sparks In Kit Carson Park In Escondido
Firefighters battled a brush fire Friday in Kit Carson Park in Escondido, officials said.
ESCONDIDO, CA – A brush fire sparked in Escondido's Kit Carson Park Friday, sending smoke over the area.
The fire was reported shortly before noon in a riverbed of the park at 3333 Bear Valley Parkway, according to the Escondido Fire Department. Smoke was visible from Interstate 15.
At least 10 engines responded to the scene, fire officials said. Firefighters fought the flames from the ground and aboard a helicopter.

No structures were threatened and no evacuations were issued, officials said.
The blaze forced North County Transit District to reroute its BREEZE Route 350 to Westfield North County, according to the agency. Authorities blocked the road in the area for firefighting efforts.
