ESCONDIDO, CA — Police are investigating a report of a child abduction attempt near the baseball fields at Kit Carson Park in Escondido Saturday morning. According to a statement released by police, the suspect tried to lure the 9-year-old boy into the back of his white Toyota Tacoma by offering him cake. Police said the child refused and fled. The suspect is described as a tan, adult man in his 60s. The man had grey hair and mustache. The suspect was wearing a white T-shirt. Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to call Detective Damian Jackson at (760) 839-4932 or leave an anonymous tip at 760-743-TIPS (8477). Photo via Shutterstock
