Earthquake In Riverside County Rattles Northern San Diego County

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA – A 4.4 magnitude earthquake struck Riverside County, rattling northern San Diego County on Tuesday evening. The quake was recorded at 6:24 p.m. more than four miles east-northeast of Aguanga in the Inland Empire, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
A 2.9 magnitude earthquake struck the same area at 6:53 p.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

- 4.3 miles east-northeast of Aguanga
- 9.3 miles north-northeast of Palomar Observatory
- 9.3 miles southwest of Anza
- 28.6 miles south-southwest of Palm Springs
- 29.2 miles north-northeast of Escondido
- 52.2 miles north-northeast of San Diego
Residents in Escondido, Fallbrook, Vista, San Marcos, Ramona, Poway, Oceanside, Carlsbad and elsewhere throughout the San Diego region reported feeling the first quake, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
