The annual community-building event takes place 5-8 p.m. tonight at Grape Day Park.

ESCONDIDO, CA – Community members and law enforcement officers across the country, county and city of Escondido, will celebrate National Night Out Tuesday night. The annual event promotes community-police partnerships, crime prevention and neighborhood camaraderie.
In Escondido, community members will have a chance to meet local police officers, learn crime prevention tips and participate in family-friendly activities. Hosted by the Escondido Police Department, there will also be law enforcement vehicles on display and a free opportunity drawing. One of the special prizes this year will be “Lunch with the Chief.” Children’s activities will include fingerprinting, face painting, a rope bridge, jump house, bike rodeo (must bring bicycle/scooter and helmet) and interactive displays at the various booths.
The event takes place from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1, at Grape Day Park, located at 21 N Broadway.
