Escondido Jimbo's Employee Cited for Selling Alcohol to Minor

The Escondido Police Department cited the employee Thursday during its "Minor Decoy" sting.

ESCONDIDO, CA – The Escondido Police Department caught a local market selling alcohol to a minor Thursday during a sting that used an underage decoy.

Police conducted the sting at seven different business with only one failing to comply with the law. An employee at Jimbo's...Naturally! at 1633 South Centre City Parkway in Escondido was given a misdemeanor citation for selling alcohol to a minor.

“Minor Decoy operations are a small part of the Escondido Police Department’s strategy to combat the dangers associated with underage drinking,” Lt. Ed Varso said in a statement.

Additional operations, Varso said, are planned for coming months.

The department’s operation is part of the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control’s Education and Teen Alcohol Enforcement Program Grant, funded by the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
