Man Arrested In Mother's Murder In Escondido
BREAKING: David McGee, 25, was arrested on suspicion of murdering his 55-year-old mother, Rebecca Apodaca.

ESCONDIDO, CA – A man was arrested for allegedly murdering his mother at an Escondido apartment, authorities said Thursday.
The Escondido Police and Fire departments responded to a report of a possibly dead person around 6:40 p.m. Wednesday at an address on North Hickory Street.
After arriving to the scene, officers discovered David McGee, 25, suffering from wounds that were determined to be self-inflicted. Escondido police Lt. Justin Murphy said McGee was detained "due to his injuries and suspicious nature of the call."

Police also found McGee’s mother, Rebecca Apodaca, 55, inside the apartment with injuries consistent with being the victim of a homicide, Murphy said.
McGee was transported to Palomar Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and placed under arrest on suspicion of first-degree murder, Murphy said.

Police are still investigating the incident.
