Brush Fire Breaks Out Near Escondido
The fire was first reported at 12:24 p.m., according to the CHP.

ESCONDIDO, CA – A nearly four-acre brush fire broke out Thursday afternoon in Harmony Grove, in unincorporated Escondido, but crews quickly stopped forward progress of the flames.
The blaze, called the Club Fire, sparked in the 1800 block of Country Club Drive, according to the Escondido Fire Department. Crews from Cal Fire and Rancho Santa Fe Fire Protection District responded to the scene.
The fire was first reported at 12:24 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol's incident log. Flames were reportedly spreading up a hill near a construction area at Harmony Grove Road and Country Club Drive.

The fire scorched 3.8 acres before firefighters stopped forward progress of the flames, fire officials said. No structures were threatened, according to Cal Fire.
Country Club Drive between Harmony Grove and Kauana Loa was closed due to the fire.

Crews were expected to remain on scene for several hours mopping up.
