Fast-Moving Brush Fire Erupts Near Fallbrook
The blaze erupted along Sandia Creek Drive at Rock Mountain Road.

FALLBROOK, CA -- Firefighters were making progress at stopping a fast- moving brush fire in the rural De Luz area north of Fallbrook that started Saturday. At about 7:19 p.m., CalFire reported the fire had consumed 225 acres of vegetation and was 10 percent contained with forward rate of spread stopped.
Reports of the fire first came in about 3:10 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. It's located along Rock Mountain Drive near Sandia Creek Drive, just south of the Riverside County line.
Crews from Cal Fire San Diego were responding to the blaze, according to Cal Fire Capt. Issac Sanchez.
The fire was estimated at 25-30 acres as of about 4:30 p.m, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.

About 100 homes were threatened, Sanchez said.
Sheriff's officials said residents were being told to evacuate to Fallbrook High School, 2400 S Stage Coach Road.

All evacuation orders and road closures remained in effect, officials said.
Authorities in Riverside County said they did not believe the fire had spread into their jurisdiction, although smoke was reported in Murrieta.
