Home Fire Displaces Family Of 4 In North County

No one was inside the residence at the time of the blaze, officials said.

DE LUZ, CA – A family of four was displaced when a fire destroyed their mobile home today shortly before 8:45 a.m. in a rural area near Fallbrook, authorities said.

The blaze, near the intersection of Sandia Creek Road and East Sandia Creek Terrace, just south of the Riverside County line, appeared to start in the trailer and spread to an adjacent storage unit, the North County Fire Protection District said.

Firefighters determined no one was inside the residence and knocked down the flames within around 25 minutes, and no injuries were reported, district spokesman John Choi said.

Assisting North County Fire Protection crews at the scene were firefighters from Camp Pendleton, Pala and Vista departments, officials said.

"It is noteworthy to add how regularly and seamlessly our automatic aid system works in Northern San Diego County," the agency said. "With automatic aid, fire engines, paramedic ambulances, chief officers, etc. are automatically dispatched across jurisdictional boundaries without requiring special permission."
