Man Attacks, Tries To Abduct Woman In San Diego County
A woman was injured while fighting off a man who tried to abduct her on Valentine's Day in Warner Springs, authorities said.

WARNER SPRINGS, CA – A woman was injured while fighting off a man who tried to abduct her on Valentine's Day in Warner Springs, authorities said.
The 29-year-old woman was getting out of her car to check her mail just before 7:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 29000 block of State Route 79 when a man "attacked her and tried to get her into his truck," Sheriff's Sgt. Brian Jenkins said.
"She was able to fight off the attacker and drive away from the area," Jenkins said.

The woman told deputies the man followed her for "some distance" and then continued driving westbound on SR-76 toward Valley Center.
The victim was treated for minor injuries and released from the hospital, Jenkins said.

She described the suspect as white, between 30 to 40 years old, about 5-foot-9 and 180 pounds. She said he had dark eyes, strong body odor, and rotting and missing teeth. The man was wearing a grey shirt, black jacket, dark pants, black shoes and a black beanie. He was last seen driving a late 90s pickup truck, possibly a Ford Ranger.
Anyone with information about the attempted abduction was asked to contact Deputy Alvin Vasquez from the Warner Springs-Ranchita substation at 760-782-3353, or the San Diego County Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477 or sdcrimestoppers.org. Tipsters may remain anonymous and could be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
