Petunia is a 5-1/2-year-old, 59-pound, female, Husky mix. She was lost and taken to a shelter. When nobody came to claim her, Petunia was transferred to Rancho Coastal Humane Society through Friends of County Animal Shelters (FOCAS).
She’s friendly but also shy. Petunia walks well on a leash. She could live with kids 10 and older as long as they respect her space. She likes other dogs. Petunia could live in an apartment.
The $145 adoption fee for Petunia includes medical exam, spay, up to date vaccinations, registered microchip, and a one-year license if her new home is in the jurisdiction of San Diego Humane Society.

Lessen your carbon pawprint by adopting a "recycled" pet in honor of Earth Day, April 22nd. Rancho Coastal Humane Society in Encinitas reminds you:
Earth Day includes adopting recycled pets from shelters or rescues rather than supporting puppy mills or backyard breeders that harm the environment.
Pick up after your pets. When you don't, it can end up in the ocean or our drinking water. For extra impact, use biodegradable poop bags.
Use environmentally friendly pet shampoo and pet toys and beds made from natural products.
Spaying or neutering your pet will eliminate unwanted kittens or puppies.
Ask your vet about safe options to control fleas and ticks.
Recycle used items or buy used items and support animals at Rancho Coastal Humane Society’s Thrift Shop at 120 Aberdeen Drive in Cardiff by the Sea.
