The San Diego Community College District and San Diego City, Mesa and Miramar Colleges,
and the College of Continuing Education will commemorate Hispanic Heritage Month or
Chicanx/Latinx Heritage Month, September 17 through October.

The colleges will honor the histories, cultures, and contributions of Latinx communities
from around the world with an array of on campus and virtual events that include a
lecture on Chicana artist Judy Baca, a career panel focused on the impact of intersectionality
and culture in the workplace, and a poetry reading with Howard University Professor
and Poet Tony Medina.
