Brush Fire Sparks East Of Mount Palomar
One lane of SR-79 was closed as crews doused the blaze.

OAK GROVE, CA – A fire of unknown origin scorched about a half-acre in a back-country area east of Palomar Mountain Wednesday before crews were able to subdue the flames, authorities reported.
The non-injury blaze erupted about 9:15 a.m. off the 37000 block of state Route 79, near Sunshine Summit in the Oak Grove area of northern San Diego County, according to Cal Fire.
It took ground personnel about 15 minutes to halt the spread of the flames, which posed no structural threats, said Issac Sanchez, a fire captain with the state agency.

One lane of SR-79 was closed for a time as crews doused the blaze. The roadway was fully open again by midday, Cal Fire advised.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
