Woman Pleads Not Guilty to Embezzling $500K from Escondido Business

Temecula woman faces 51 felony charges.

NORTH SAN DIEGO COUNTY -- A woman accused of embezzling more than $500,000 over several years from the Escondido concrete business where she worked pleaded not guilty to 51 felony charges, including grand theft, on Dec. 2.

Sheila Jo Jackson, 46, was ordered held on $500,000 bail. She was arrested Nov. 30 at her home in Temecula.

Jackson allegedly stole the funds from the coffers of Betz Concrete, where she worked as the business manager.

According to police, the embezzlement was discovered after a bank representative contacted Betz about suspicious activity on the company account.

The alleged thefts went back to at least 2012, according to Deputy District Attorney Anna Winn.
