Accident at Marconi-Garfield Leaves Teen in Critical Condition

A man is in critical condition following a car accident with a tow truck on Sunday afternoon at the corner of Garfield and Marconi avenues in Carmichael, area news outlets are reporting.

According to officer Michael Price of the CHP, the 19-year-old male driver made a mistake at about 4 p.m. while pulling out into traffic and was broadsided by an on-coming tow truck, KCRA reported.

The driver, who has not been identified, was said to be in surgery as of Sunday night after having suffered life-threatening injuries, News 10 reported. Price said that the front passenger in the Honda suffered a major head injury but is expected to make a full recovery. The other two passengers only had complaints of pain.The driver to the tow truck did not suffer any injuries, News 10 reported.
