BLOG: 'The Totally TRUE Story of Cinderella and the Prince' Opens in Fair Oaks
Come see how Ellie, with help from her pets, figures out the real story of how her parents met in "The Totally TRUE Story of Cinderella and the Prince" this weekend!
New Star Children's Theatre is proud to present a brand new original take on the traditional story of Cinderella!
Ellie, the daughter of Cinderella and the Prince, is completely bored with her life at the palace, and thinks nothing exciting ever happened there. Then...her pets start to tell her the REAL truth, about her parents, and the story of how they met...and as she hears the story, through the words of her pets, her aunts, the "Step sisters", the Fairy Godmother, she discovers that her parents story was anything BUT boring! This funny and sweet original musical was written by Melanie Thompson, a New Star Alumni, with the songs written by Director Dana Hendry, and her husband Robert Hendry, along with their daughter, Kayla Hendry.
This terrific production stars a cast of 25 local area children and youth from the age of 4-17, and a couple of adults join the cast as well! In the featured role of "Ellie", Natalie Roeschen, 7 years old, and a veteran of 18 productions with New Star, is captivating as the young princess. Kayla Stokes, 10, is in her first LEAD role, shining as Cinder "Ella" along with Kristofer Yambrovich, 13, who plays the young Prince Alfred with comedy and sincerity. Playing Grown-up "Ella" and "Alfred", are Kristofer's parents Tawny and Mike Yambrovich, making this show a real family affair. This show is a perfect show to bring your whole family to enjoy!
