Local X Factor Auditions to be held in the Sacramento area

FOX40 to host local X Factor Auditions

Four winners guaranteed audition passes for Denver

Up to $2,000 in travel expenses for Grand Prize winner

Friday, April 19, 2013 – The X Factor comes to the Valley with FOX40’s Sacramento X Factor audition. Three talented performers and one group will take the first step to stardom as FOX40, Hot 103.5, 101.9 The Wolf and Skip’s Music host a unique competition featuring top local amateur talent.

Friday, May 3, from 7a-11a, prospective X Factor participants will compete as FOX40 hosts a four-hour audition session at Three Stages at Folsom Lake College.  A team of local music professionals provided by Skip's Music will qualify contestants based on ability and stage presence. At 10:15a, finalists will meet in Stage 1 of Three Stages, where winners will be chosen.

There are four (4) categories: Teens (age 12-17), Young Adults (ages 18-24), Groups, and Over 25.

The two-part audition session will identify Northern California’s finest vocal talents. The finalists will battle for one of four coveted slots (each of the four X Factor categories will be represented).  The winners will receive a cool prize pack filled with goodies from FOX40, The X Factor and partners and a $25 Togo’s Gift Card. All finalists will be given a pass for a guaranteed screening with the National X Factor judges on May 15 in Denver, CO. One lucky Grand Prize winner will receive up to $2,000 in travel expenses courtesy of FOX.

FOX40 will audition the first 200 pre-registrants from 7a-9a before opening the auditions to walk-ons from 9a – 11a. Pre-registration and release forms are available at FOX40.com. Please bring completed release forms and valid photo ID to auditions.

FOX40 News anchor Paul Robins hosts the event and will provide viewers with an inside look at the competition with live coverage, during FOX40 News (4:30-10a).

ELIGIBILITY: Limited to legal California residents with a valid photo ID within the FOX40 viewing area, who are 12 years of age or older as of May 3, 2013 (and have parental permission) are eligible to enter, except employees (and their family members) of KTXL LLC, Tribune Broadcasting Company, Entravision Radio, Three Stages at Folsom Lake College, Skip's Music, FOX Broadcasting Company, News Corporation, FOX Interactive Media, FremantleMedia North America, Inc., X Factor Productions, Inc., 19 TV Ltd.,19 Merchandising Ltd., and CKX, Inc.
