New Star 'Supernova' Performance Debuts at Chicken Festival Sept. 15
Supernova Performance Troupe is a truly talented group of children and youth who have been compared to a "Family friendly version of Glee"!
The is coming to the Fair Oaks Chicken Festival and it's bringing some friends.
New Star is proud of an exceptional group of young people who are part of the Supernova Performance Troupe. Supernova has been compared to "Glee" in their performance style but a family-friendly version! The troupe consists of 16 kids ages 7 to 20! Our youngest troupe member, Natalie Roeschen brings her sparkle and amazing talents to the group and everytime she takes the stage, it draws a BIG crowd! Our oldest performer, who guests with Supernova, and is a New Star Alumni, Dustin Heer, has a voice that sounds like butter...so smooth. People are always awe-struck when they hear him sing, and have said on many occasions that he should be on American Idol or The Voice. All of the special kids in this group have great talents and are really amazing individuals. They light up the stage.
New Star is a place where kids can be themselves. It's a happy place. When you walk in to a rehearsal, the room is filled with smiling kids. They are doing what they love in an environment where they are encouraged to be their true selves. All are accepted in New Star.

Supernova has performed all over the Sacramento region (and further!). One of the biggest parts of Supernova is giving back to the community and in that spirit they have performed for homeless shelters, retirement homes, schools for disadvantaged youths, and many other places. They did a wonderful show with a group of Senior Citizens at Maidu Village in Roseville this past August to rave reviews! They were involved in mentoring youth in a North Highland school all through-out the year last year. They will be performing at a Homeless shelter, and for Step Up for Down Syndrome, and another show with the Senior Citizens this fall, as well as being a flash mob at an event in Pleasant Hill CA in October!
There are lots of exciting things for this talented troupe in the future! They hope to take their act to Disneyland one of these days!
