Pastor Cary Duckett Blog: Hello Carmichael Patch Readers

What a privilege to be asked to write a blog on Carmichael Patch! My name is Cary Duckett and I am the pastor of located in Carmichael on Cypress Avenue. (imagine that...).

I have been the pastor at Cypress for 4 years. I moved here with my wife and two boys from Alabama. People often ask "How did you end up in California?" I wish there was a simple answer to that question, but there's not. It took much prayer, a lot of waiting, more prayer, several lengthy conversations, more praying, several tear filled conversations with family and friends, still more prayer and then came the good-byes. Needless to say, it was one of the most exciting, heart-wrenching moments in my life....but it has turned out to be one of the best journeys I have ever been on.

My wife, my boys and myself all enjoy living in California. We feel as though we are becoming a part of the Carmichael/Sacramento community. Not everything is rosy (gas is too high!) but we love our friends and have experienced God's care and provision.
