Rio Americano, El Camino Cross Country Girls Run at State Meet
Rio Americano senior Macaulay Porter leads Rio's varsity girls at State Cross Country Meet in Fresno, breaks school record. El Camino senior Kandace Compton sets personal season best time.
The Rio Americano High School varsity girls cross country team ran in the California State Meet at Woodward Park in Fresno on November 24 2012, and they placed 21st in the very competitive Division 3 girls race.
Senior Macaulay Porter led the team and set a personal best time and broke the Rio Americano High School girl's record for the Woodward Park 5,000 meter course, running 18:54, eclipsing the former record of 18:58 set by current Sacramento State distance ace Lauren Mugnaini in 2009.
Teammates Alyssa Evans, Audrey Nishi, and Ilana Weisberg also ran personal best times on the hilly course. Elizabeth Hutchison, Ariel Young, Paige Gowan, Gwendolyn Giles and Lucy Giles were the other harriers on Rio Americano's squad.

El Camino senior Kandace Compton also ran as an individual qualifier in the same race, and set a personal season best time of 19:55.
