Uniting Community Today for Better Business Tomorrow

Your Daily Business Nugget: A tip that could help you and your business, plus a bit of challenging "homework" to get you moving in the direction you wish to go. Got a question? Ask the coach.

Commune! It’s a very old word - one that we don’t even use anymore as a verb. It means, “to converse, talk together.” As a businessperson, you live and work in a great community. And there are “mini-communities” in and around the Fair Oaks area within your reach – the Chamber of Commerce, Rotary, Kiwanis, networking groups, clubs, churches, neighborhoods (with neighbors), etc. – that are filled with people you can get to know, and build relationships. You need people to buy the products and services you offer. You need to build relationships – not just to sell things, but also to really enjoy life!

It’s more fun to be successful. Who is responsible for the success of your business? Only one person.

Remember: people typically buy more often from folks they know and like. So, commune!

From the Coach’s Box: List a few local organizations or groups you could join. Fair Oaks and the surrounding area have many options. Check a few out. There are probably people you know and like who are already members of some of those groups. Then, make a commitment to visit one. Follow through, and show up. If you were not sure where to start, I would recommend the Fair Oaks Chamber of Commerce. Yes, I am a member, and I would be glad to meet you at our next luncheon, March 15th. Stop by and introduce yourself!
