What Is The hCG Diet?

The hCG diet is very popular in other areas of the country, but what exactly is it and does it work?

You may have heard about people losing a pound a day or more on the hCG diet.  I came from Arizona, and everyone down there had heard of it, or done it, and I know it is very popular in SoCal too.  The diet became well known when Kevin Trudeau wrote the book “The Weight Loss Cure”.  In it, he outlines how to lose weight, and keep it off using hCG, a technique that was developed over 50 years ago by Dr. Simeons, an Italian physician.

Basically, you give yourself very small injections of hCG, a hormone that is naturally produced in the body during pregnancy, and eat a specific low calorie diet, between 500 and 1000 calories.  It is true that, usually, anyone who eats that few calories will lose weight.  The way hCG helps optimize and ease the experience of dieting is it is reported to help curb appetite so you do not feel hungry while eating so little, and it helps to mobilize fat from the trouble areas like the stomach, buttocks, and thighs.

I have personally seen people lose between 15 and 40 lbs a round, some have great results, and some still have trouble, usually it is because they do not stick to the diet.  The hCG experience, in its purest form, teaches you to eat and live healthily so that after the diet is over, you keep the weight off, and have a better health outlook in the future.
