Marking 100 years since its first performance at the Hollywood Bowl in 1926, The Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square will make a historic return this month for a “Songs of Hope” benefit concert. Residents of Carmichael, Fair Oaks, Citrus Heights and Orangevale are invited to a special, free watch party of the show that features the choir with guest performers that include Donny Osmond and 16-time Grammy Award winner David Foster.

The watch party will be held beginning at 6 p.m. Friday, June 26, at the Carmichael Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4125 San Juan Ave. in Fair Oaks. Families of all ages and friends are invited to enjoy the concert broadcast on a large screen with theater‑quality sound. Free hot dogs and refreshments will be provided during the performance, which will last from 6-8:30 p.m. For free tickets, visit www.tcwatchparty.com

Watch party attendees are encouraged to bring a nonperishable food donation to the event that will benefit local food bank, Sunrise Christian Food Ministry.

The concert will feature the 360‑member Tabernacle Choir and the 200‑member Orchestra at Temple Square in an evening designed to inspire and unite audiences of all ages. The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square is an all‑volunteer choir founded in 1847 and recognized worldwide for its signature sound and historic weekly broadcast, "Music & the Spoken Word." First aired in 1929, the program is the longest‑running continuous network broadcast in history. The Choir has released dozens of albums, earned a Grammy Award and multiple Emmys, and performed for world leaders, at presidential inaugurations and in major venues across the globe.

“We’re excited to welcome our neighbors and friends to enjoy this historic concert together,” said Brandon Taylor, Carmichael Stake president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter‑day Saints. “The Tabernacle Choir’s return to the Hollywood Bowl offers a special opportunity for people of all backgrounds to unite around messages of faith, hope, love and service — values that strengthen communities and inspire us to see the good in one another. Everyone is invited to come, relax, share some food and feel the joy and hope this music brings.”

The Hollywood Bowl performance features a high‑profile lineup of guest artists, including:

Donny Osmond, one of the world’s most enduring entertainers, brings more than six decades of experience across music, television, film and stage. He starred in more than 2,000 performances of “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” and continues to headline one of Las Vegas’ most acclaimed shows.

David Foster is recognized as one of the most influential composers and producers in modern music. Besides the 16 Grammys, his career includes an Emmy, a Golden Globe and three Oscar nominations. He recently composed the Broadway musical “Boop!” and released a Christmas album with his wife, Katharine McPhee.

Katharine McPhee, known nationally from Season Five of “American Idol,” has built a career spanning pop, jazz, film, television and Broadway.

Stephanie J. Block, one of Broadway’s most celebrated voices, earned a Tony Award for “The Cher Show” and a Helen Hayes Award for “Sunset Boulevard.” She starred in the 2022-23 revival of “Into the Woods” and continues to work across stage, television and recording.

Sebastian Arcelus, known for roles on CBS’s “Madam Secretary” and Netflix’s “House of Cards,” has appeared in numerous Broadway productions, including “Into the Woods” alongside Block. His work also includes film roles and voice acting. Block and Arcelus both performed with The Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra during the choir's Christmas concerts in 2025.

The Bonner Family is a multigenerational gospel ensemble known for its rich harmonies, soulful arrangements and uplifting, faith‑centered performances. Their music blends contemporary gospel, soul and inspirational styles, and the family has performed internationally sharing messages of unity, joy and hope.

Tabernacle Choir President Michael O. Leavitt says the concert is planned to be a celebratory evening designed to entertain, inspire and unite audiences of all ages through music.

“This concert represents a meaningful intersection of music and purpose,” Leavitt said. “As we return to the Hollywood Bowl, we do so not only to celebrate a historic moment, but to invite others to participate in efforts that uplift and strengthen families and communities.”
