Carmichael Woman Is Reported Missing

Melodie Benton last seen in Folsom on Wednesday.

The Sheriff’s Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a woman
from Carmichael who went missing after leaving work yesterday afternoon.

Melodie Benton, 55, was last seen at her place of employment in Folsom on Wednesday at about 2 p.m. She is considered to be at-risk, due to
her disappearance being highly inconsistent with her normal behavior patterns.

Benton is a Native-American female, she is 5’3”, and about 150 pounds. She has long, straight black hair and brown eyes. Benton drives a red and silver 2001 Chevrolet Monte Carlo (CA license #4XOS962), and is known to frequent Indian Casinos.

The Sheriff’s Department has learned that Benton (a.k.a. Melodie Rowan) was observed on video surveillance cameras leaving the Red Hawk Casino in Shingle Springs on Wednesday at about 8 p.m. She appeared to be alone, and the direction that she left is unknown. She was wearing a black turtle neck with a bright green vest over it, and a black hoodie with white trim when she left Red Hawk Casino.

In addition, a distinct marking on her car is that there is a black Tasmanian Devil decal on the driver-side rear quarter panel.

Anyone knowing the whereabouts of this missing person is asked to call the Sheriff’s Department at (916) 874-5115.
