Del Campo Teacher Nominated for Teacher of The Year
Teachers can be nominated by other teachers, administrators, parents and students.
Del Campo High School teacher, Kevin Barone has been nominated for a 2013 teacher of the year award.
Barone has been a mathematics teacher with Del Campo for 19 years.
San Juan Unified recently held a reception to recognize its 2013 Teacher of the Year Nominees. Watch the video above to meet the nominees.
Teachers can be nominated by other teachers, administrators, parents or even students. To be chosen for this prestigious award, nominated teachers must follow an application process that describes in detail:

- experience as a teacher
- professional development activities
- student progress
- education issues and trends
- philosophy of teaching
Applications are due by April 19. Interviews are carried out on May 15. Candidates are then observed in their classroom the week of May 21. Two finalists will be chosen on May 28.
The Teacher of the Year will be recognized during the San Juan Unified Board of Education's August 21 meeting. Two teachers will be selected as the District’s teachers of the year and advance to the Sacramento County Teacher of the Year selection process.
