2nd Annual Potluck Fundraiser and General Meeting

Carmichael Canine Corral Dog Park is hosting its 2nd annual Potluck Dinner and General Member Meeting on Saturday, January 21, 2012, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Veteran's Hall, 5750 Grant Avenue (Grant and Fair Oaks).

Bring your dish to share with 10-12 people and $5 per person entrance fee.   Guest speaker is Tom J Lucido, Regional Trainer for Petco, who will address dog behavior.   Win a raffle prize or 2 by purchasing tickets $10 for 6 or $2 each.   All monies raised to to the renovation fund.   Important dog park business will also be addressed, so all members are encouraged to attend.  Dues must be current in order to vote.  Please bring friends and neighbors so they may become members as well.

As anyone who owns dogs knows, they can be hard on the landscaping.  Now consider some 4,000 dogs a week visiting a confined acre of ground.   Carmichael Canine Corral has a remarkable group of volunteers who keep things clean and tidy.  But, our temporary seating is stolen on a regular basis.  Trees beyond their prime have necessarily been removed by arborists, leaving little shade in some areas of the park.  Mud areas have been addressed by a recent workday that spread several tons of decomposed granite, but that is only a temporary fix.  Much heavy-duty work remains to done for health and safety of dogs as well as humans, including drainage and grading.  Donations of materials and money (tax deductible, pay to CRPD Foundation).
