The Mental Illness: It’s not always what you think Second Saturday Art Show will showcase artwork from Sacramento County residents in an effort to promote messages of wellness and hope and to dispel myths and stereotypes related to mental illness.
The event, sponsored by the Sacramento County Department of Health and Human Services and Division of Behavioral Health Services (DHHS/DBHS), will also recognize Mental Health Champions in Sacramento County. This recognition honors individuals and organizations that have made a significant contribution towards:
- Reducing stigma experienced by people with mental illness
- Providing support or treatment to people with mental illness
- Advocacy for issues related to mental health and/or advancing knowledge in the area of mental illness and mental health research
